Maintaining a Healthy Mindset

By:

Team WISE

A career in sales can be stressful, so being intentional about how you respond to pressures and situations at work will help keep your mental health in check.

In our panel discussion "Maintaining a Healthy Mindset" our panelists Amber Lyon (Modern Mind), Kaylee Chappelow (Greenhouse), and Olivia Cole (Formative) shared ways you can keep a positive mindset to avoid burnout and achieve your goals.

Here are some key takeaways to guide you in your professional journey.

Create habits to calm the nervous system.

In stressful environments like sales, it's important to create physical habits to calm our bodies and minds. Before your next performance review or client meeting, try breathwork, humming, or quick physical movement to relax your systems.

Step back to receive more.

In order to be able to give energy to the whole self and feed different parts of your soul, you need to detach from the pressures of work. Give yourself the space and the time to nurture hobbies, relationships, routines, and you'll be able to show up authentically in the workplace, which often leads to a path of success.

Create boundaries.

As saleswomen, it's tempting to be on at all times, but unfortunately this can quickly lead to burnout. To prevent this, try creating (and sticking to!) boundaries like time blocking, morning routines, or evening log-off times. Sometimes, we have to tap out of work, to be able to tap in and show up as our true selves.
