In our recent virtual event, our panelists, Nirvanna Lildharrie, Jessica O’Kane, and Katie Capuzzo (WISE) shared tips for getting comfortable with change. Watch the recording here.

Here’s what we learned:

Change doesn’t always equal action.

Sometimes you need to take an intentional pause to reflect and organize your thoughts before making a decision. Do what works for you: write a list, mediate, have conversations, but most importantly, trust your intuition.

Change is scary, but fear isn’t a reason not to.

Worst case, you make a mistake or get a “no,” but those scenarios bring a huge opportunity for growth. Consider using the Bridges Transition Model to help you process what happened and how you can effectively take your next step.

Fuel a growth mindset.

What’s the biggest room in the world? The room for improvement. Continually challenging yourself isn’t always a natural reaction, but can be practiced. It’s helpful to first understand where you currently are and then identify what your desired end state is. Remember to be patient with yourself and ask for help!
