WISE Member of the Month: December 2022

By:

Each month, WISE selects a member of the community to share their sales knowledge and story. We are excited to announce Jordana Silverman as our December 2022 Member of the Month!

Jordana is currently working as Sales Director - Healthcare at Ogury and joined the WISE community in 2022.

Why is a community like WISE important to you?

I transitioned from the client to vendor side in late 2019, making it a very strange time to onboard. I spent the first 3 years of selling in the same role and organization, so one of the biggest highlights of being in a community like WISE was the opportunity to compare what I learned with others. There are so many ways to tackle our job that I love hearing how others drive success. Additionally, there are challenges we've all tackled and WISE is a place where we can get as much as we put in. By sharing what I've seen along the way, I hope to create the opportunity to make our cohort of excellent sales women even stronger.

What are your goals for the end of this year?

A dear friend likes to say that people are like plants, you are either growing or dying. So while none of my goals are lofty - they are incremental growth. In the last year or two, I've learned more about how my neurodiverse brain works and it makes sense that I dislike annual goals – they are hard for me to manage, track, and stay motivated by. However, I love chunking and breaking down goals to manageable pieces. Therefore, my 2023 goals are to always set goals!

I'm kicking off the year with a goal of building a routine with accountability partners for the areas of work, physical health, mental health, and family. Our routines are all out of whack from Thanksgiving to New Year's, so starting with a fresh routine in January will allow for me to dive deeper in February!

Work: Prepare notes to self on all internal calls like external calls to become more efficient in my speaking

Physical Health: Take a break to exercise on all WFH days - if you are a Peloton person for biking or yoga, I'd love to schedule to "meet" in classes with pop-punk or pop music!

Mental Health: Journaling! I've recently joined the Silk & Sonder journal community, this is a referral link for anyone interested in trying it, too.

Family: During the peak of the 2020 Lockdown, I started to bake Challah on Friday to have a Shabbat dinner with my family. I've been rushing to do this last minute and I'm recommitting to getting to this earlier in the day. Check out the photos below!

How do you encourage your sales team to end the year on a strong note?

Cheering on everyone's wins and being available if anyone needs to take their few minutes to be bummed about a loss! I love to set a timer on a loss, feel it, and then game plan for what comes next.
