Each month, WISE selects a member of the community to share their sales knowledge and story. We are excited to announce Root Debesay as our October 2024 Member of the Month! She joined the WISE community in 2022.
Favorite WISE memory so far?
One of my favorite memories from WISE has been the webinars and pods. The webinars have provided a great opportunity to gain insight into how other women are navigating their professions and growth trajectory, as well as achieving work-life balance. The pods have been a wonderful way to network with women across different industries, backgrounds, and professional levels. Even for someone who has been in customer success for a while, it’s important for me to always look for ways to improve my process and WISE has been a great way to do that. It’s a great space to learn and grow as a sales professional. It’s also been a great way of expanding my networking and supporting capabilities from finding women to mentor to mentoring others who are just starting their sales or corporate careers.
What is one way you practice self-care daily?
My work keeps me busy, so it’s important for me to prioritize my mental and physical wellness as part of my daily routine. My dog, Charlie plays a big role in this. Taking time to walk him in the morning or play with him helps me stay grounded and present. Incorporating other practices like five minutes Reiki exercise, mindful breathing throughout the day helps me stay balanced and energized throughout the day. I’m also a huge coffee drinker in the morning, so having a high protein filled breakfast helps me minimize my stress levels. Maintaining these habits allows me to focus my energy on things that matter, helping me bring my best self to work and personal life.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
This season, I am looking forward to more peace and mindfulness in our communities and world in general. There seems to be so much happening, and so many people impacted by different things. I hope as the year comes to an end, better things emerge, so those who are struggling can have the opportunity to live up to their full potential.
